Friday Food Tour  10.26.12

If you're not a baseball fan, sorry! But GO GIANTS! The Giants have been playing so well these first two games of the World Series - it's been a treat to watch. The only bad thing is it may make for a short series, and that would be sad. The end of baseball is always a sad event around the Iowa Foodie compound. But, better get on to the Food Tour for this Friday...

Roadtips was back in the metro for a recent post on Mezzodi's, the Italian spot on Fleur. I love that his posts are so detailed and full of information. And you could spend hours browsing through the archives - it's fun to see if he's been where you're headed in the midwest!

There's been lots of buzz about The Other Place coming to the metro. We've eaten several times at their Cedar Falls and Clear Lake locations, but have yet to venture out to the new location in Clive. Good thing Slaking Fool knew the bus route out there - take a look at what he thought of The Other Place.

The latest craft brewery in Des Moines opened recently - Confluence Brewery. Distilled Opinion was at their Grand Opening and wrote up a nicely detailed account on what they're brewing. Check it out!

Des Loines was back at it in Toledo, hitting up the Trojan Inn for a tasty breaded tenderloin. Photos and information here. It's definitely tenderloin road trip season for us, we take a lot of winter drives based on Des Loines posts!

Halloween is right around the corner - got your costume all ready? Well, if you're wondering what booze you'll need, Serious Eats Drinks has their recommendations of 'Scary Booze for a Bottom Shelf Halloween Party,' so you're all set!

Have a great weekend.
